Educação Histórica: Teoria e Investigação Empírica

Esta publicação, Educação Histórica: Teoria e Investigação Empírica, nasceu da necessidade de dar maior visibilidade, em Portugal, ao campo epistemológico de Educação Histórica, partilhando e reforçando a relevância dos dados e conclusões que emergiram da investigação neste campo. Sublinham-se os dois eixos essenciais para uma Educação Histórica que promova tomadas de decisão e intervenção na aula de História e na vida prática: epistemologia entendida como consciência da teoria e metodologia que orienta a construção da História; investigação empírica enquanto pesquisa de ideias (proto-históricas) de estudantes para a construção de desafios históricos na aula de História.
Este será um contributo para a formação de estudantes de mestrado e doutoramento em Educação Histórica e/ou ensino de História, bem como para investigadores e professores da mesma área, uma vez que ainda poderá existir uma disseminação pouco sistematizada da investigação realizada.
A obra conta com contributos de autores de vários países (Brasil, Chipre, Colômbia, Espanha, Irlanda, Portugal e Reino Unido), com conhecimento e experiência reconhecidos no campo da Educação Histórica. Procedeu-se à tradução dos contributos de língua inglesa.

History Education: Theory and Empirical Research

This publication, History Education: Theory and Empirical Research, was born out of the need to give greater visibility in Portugal to the epistemological field of History Education, sharing and reinforcing the relevance of the data and conclusions that have emerged from research in this field. The two essential axes for History Education that promotes decision-making and intervention in the History classroom and in practical life are highlighted: epistemology understood as awareness of the theory and methodology that guides the construction of History; empirical research as research into students’ (proto-historical) ideas for the construction of historical challenges in the History classroom.
This will be a contribution to the training of master’s and doctoral students in History Education and/or History teaching, as well as to researchers and teachers in the same field, since there may still be little systematized dissemination of the research carried out.
The book includes contributions from authors from various countries (Brazil, Cyprus, Colombia, Spain, Ireland, Portugal and the United Kingdom), with recognized knowledge and experience in the field of History Education. The English-language contributions were translated.
